Introducing NB Audio's "NPA" (No Bullsh*t Plate Amplifier) range! Featuring the same Ultra-Low distortion NCORE amplifier technology found in our 'NAOS' amplifier combined with DSP for ultimate tuning and customisation. Our 'NPA' range takes one of the highest quality amplifier modules ever built, adds DSP and attaches it all onto a plate manufactured 100% in house using Australian Made aluminium for easy installation into speaker or subwoofer builds!

Hypex's Ncore technology has changed the way we see Class D amplification by overcoming many of the traditional limitations associated with Class D designs, such as high distortion and limited fidelity at higher frequencies. Unlike earlier Class D amplifiers, which were often criticized for lacking the warmth and clarity of Class A or AB designs, Ncore technology offers a combination of ultra-low distortion, high efficiency, and exceptional linearity across the frequency range. This breakthrough in switching amplifier design has redefined expectations, making Class D amplifiers viable for high-end audio applications where accuracy and sound quality are paramount. The result is an amplifier that not only delivers clean, powerful sound but also runs cooler and more efficiently, making it suitable for a wide range of audio setups. 

The Range:

The NPA Plate Amplifier range includes various models designed to match different subwoofer driver power and impedance requirements.

All power ratings are at 0.1% THD+N @ 1khz (unless noted otherwise). For comparison, most plate amplifiers are advertised at 1% THD+N @ 1khz. 10x the distortion of our range of plate amplifiers. 

Many manufacturers also quote max/peak/burst figures for their power ratings. All our power ratings are RMS/Continuous.

The NPA2500 has been delayed while we overcome hurdles associated with native implementation of Hypex DSP. Currently release date is unknown.

Backing Box:

Because our plate amps aren’t fully sealed by design, we offer an optional Backing Box that drops into place before installation. It’s designed to create an airtight rear chamber, and we include gasket tape to ensure a reliable seal against the enclosure.

These Backing Boxes are 3D printed in-house using HP-ASA, a high-performance, heat-resistant material rated to handle temperatures at least 20°C higher than what the plate amp will generate with intense use.
