SB18 Speaker Kit

We've turned our popular Sealed 18SW build into a kit, the SB18. But we haven't just replicated it, we've made it much more assembly friendly and improved the bracing.

The SB18 is designed to deliver serious bass without taking over your living room... or your wallet. Built around the 18SW range of subwoofers from SB Audience, these drivers perform exceptionally well in small sealed enclosures when combined with DSP.

Similar to our RICKSUB-18, this subwoofer is designed for less extension but higher SPL.

You have the option of the following drivers with this build:

• SB Audience BIANCO-18SW450
• SB Audience BIANCO-18SW500
• SB Audience ROSSO-18SW650
• SB Audience NERO-18SW1900D

A pair of these will achieve 120db+ in room when combined with DSP.

This kit is provided in a flat pack and requires assembly.

Update May 2025: We have added the option for full assembly, unpainted or painted with rolled Black Duratex.

Thanks to interlocking braces and pre-cut slots, the assembly is straightforward, even for less experienced woodworkers or speaker builders.

This is a passive subwoofer kit so you will need an external amplifier and we highly recommend one with DSP to get the most out of your kit. The most common options are:

• Behringer NX Series
• Crown XTI Series
  

Alternatively, you can use an amplifier without DSP such as the Dayton Audio SA1000 combined with an external DSP device such as a MiniDSP.

Due to the design of the port and bracing, this Subwoofer Kit does not typically suit a plate amp. We do intend on doing a version to suit our NB Audio NPA range of plates once these have been released.

This kit does not include stuffing. We recommend 800g-1kg of polyfill. You can get this from Spotlight for about $20.

Shipping Costs & Payment Process

Unfortunately, due to the wide variation in delivery locations and address types, we can't provide accurate shipping costs at checkout without investing in costly plugins for our e-commerce platform.

Instead, once you place your order, we'll email you a shipping quote based on the delivery address you provided. Your order will only proceed once you've approved and paid this quote.

Important: You won’t be charged for your kit until you accept the shipping quote.

While we do require your card details at checkout, no funds are taken right away. We've set up our system so that payment is only captured once you've confirmed the shipping cost. If you choose not to proceed after receiving the quote, no payment will be processed, and no refund will be necessary as nothing was charged.

We use 'Big Post' for all large Speaker Kit deliveries. We'll put together an indicative shipping cost info sheet shortly but these can be shipped for as little as $40 for B2B customers and $70 for residential customers (to the nearest depot).

Shipping Dimensions/Information:

This kit is shipped on one pallet which excludes the driver. The driver will be shipped directly from the distributor. The cost to ship the driver is included in the kit price.
